For years, I thought that the driving creative force behind my favorite band of all times was Lars and James; it's true, of course, but I'm having second thoughts about its exclusivity:

Easy to spot it. Enforced by the fact that not much else has changed over each period, apart from the death of one and the 'forced' resignation of the other bass player. James himself has acknowledged the importance that specific member of the band played over the years, while talking about career highs and their respective periods of time, in Greek Mad TV interview last summer: "Master of Puppets was our high point with Cliff, Black Album was our high point with Jason, maybe we'll hit that point again with Robert." 

Before Some Kind of Monster and therapy, at least in my eyes, Metallica was the ultimate band because millions of dollars aside, they looked like the best mates in the universe. Many bands rely on their producer, their manager, or their dealer; I realise now that Metallica needs a bassist to inspire them and keep them together. A specific kind of relationship always emerges between the bassist and James, and that seems to set the tone of the things to come - until the next bassist. James and Cliff, they strongly bonded over their rebel / redneck alcoholic existence and beliefs. James and Jason were out drinking together while the other two snorted lines off bimbos' tits and listened to electronica. I don't know a lot about James' relationship with Robert but once again I see that Metallica look refreshed and excited, and it's all due to that heavy monkey bassist.

The following example shows the syntax of the net user command:

net user [username [password | *] [options]] [/domain]
username {password | *} /add [options] [/domain]
username [/delete] [/domain]

You can use the net user command to create and modify user accounts on computers. When you use this command without command-line switches, the user accounts for the computer are listed. The user account information is stored in the user accounts database. This command works only on servers.

You can use the following parameters with the net user command: • username
Is the name of the user account you want to add, delete, modify, or view. The name of the user account can have as many as 20 characters.
• password
Assigns or changes a password for the user's account. A password must satisfy the minimum length set with the /minpwlen option of the net accounts command. It can contain as many as 14 characters.
• *
Produces a prompt for the password. The password is not displayed when you type it at a password prompt.
• /domain
Performs the operation on the primary domain controller (PDC) of the current domain. This parameter applies only to computers running Windows NT Workstation that are members of a Windows NT Server domain. By default, Windows NT Server-based computers perform operations on the PDC.
• /add
Adds a user account to the user accounts database.
• /delete
Removes a user account from the user accounts database.

Options for the Net User Command• /active:{yes | no}
Activates or deactivates the account. If the account is not active, the user cannot gain access to the server. The default is yes.
• /comment:"text"
Provides a descriptive comment about the user's account (maximum of 48 characters). Be sure to put quotation marks around the text you use.
• /countrycode:nnn
Uses the operating system country code to implement the specified language files for a user's help and error messages. A value of 0 signifies the default country code.
• /expires:{date | never}
Causes the account to expire if date is set. The never option sets no time limit on the account. An expiration date is in the form mm/dd/yy or dd/mm/yy, depending on the country code. Non-administrators receive a "System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied" error message when they attempt to change the password.

Το σχέδιο της αριστεράς

Για να αλλάξεις μια κατάσταση πρέπει πρώτα απ' όλα να την περιγράψεις με τη μεγαλύτερη δυνατή ακρίβεια. Αυτό που συμβαίνει στην Ελλάδα, τουλάχιστον την τελευταία δεκαετία, είναι μια τεράστια επιχείρηση αναδιανομής πλούτου, από τους οικονομικά ασθενέστερους προς τους οικονομικά ισχυρούς.

Μπορεί κανείς να το διαπιστώσει ανακαλώντας ολόκληρη τη διαδρομή, από το Χρηματιστήριο, τους Ολυμπιακούς, το μεγάλο φαγοπότι των κοινοτικών χρηματοδοτήσεων και την εκχώρηση των επιχειρήσεων κοινής ωφέλειας σε κερδοσκοπικά συμφέροντα, μέχρι τις «μεταρρυθμίσεις» στις εργασιακές σχέσεις, το ασφαλιστικό ή την εκπαίδευση που προωθεί η διακυβέρνηση Καραμανλή.

*Το βασικό χαρακτηριστικό της πορείας αυτής (πορείας μάλλον συνεχούς, παρά την κυβερνητική αλλάγή του 2004), είναι μια οικονομική μεγέθυνση, που διευρύνει αντί να μειώνει τις κοινωνικές ανισότητες και βυθίζει ευρύτατα κοινωνικά στρώματα στην ανασφάλεια.

*Η διαδρομή αυτή εξασθένησε πλήρως τις διαχωριστικές γραμμές πάνω στις οποίες στηρίχτηκε παραδοσιακά το δικομματικό σύστημα.

*Η συζήτηση πλέον είναι ελάχιστα ιδεολογική. Η εκάστοτε κυβέρνηση ισχυρίζεται ότι η σημερινή πορεία είναι μεταβατική, και ότι σε κάποια κοντινή στιγμή τα κέρδη της ανάπτυξης θα αναδιανεμηθούν προς όφελος της κοινωνίας.

*Η εκάστοτε αξιωματική αντιπολίτευση υπόσχεται ότι η κατάσταση μπορεί να βελτιωθεί σημαντικά με καλύτερο σχεδιασμό και με λίγο περισσότερη κοινωνική ευαισθησία.

*Κανένα από τα επιχειρήματα αυτά δεν είναι πλέον πειστικό. Οι πολίτες έχουν αρχίσει να αντιλαμβάνονται ότι η αναδιανομή πόρων δεν είναι ζήτημα καλών προθέσεων, αλλά ενός συσχετισμού δυνάμεων, με τον οποίο είναι απολύτως ευθυγραμμισμένα και τα δύο κόμματα εξουσίας. Το γεγονός αυτό έχει μειώσει στο ελάχιστο τις προσδοκίες από τον δικομματισμό. Σήμερα, η αναπόφευκτη φθορά της κυβέρνησης δεν μεταφράζεται σε κέρδος της αξιωματικής αντιπολίτευσης αλλά απαξιώνει και τα δύο μεγάλα κόμματα.

Αρνούμενη να συμβιβαστεί με τον συγκεκριμένο συσχετισμό δυνάμεων, η αριστερά κατηγορήθηκε πολλές φορές στο παρελθόν για «έλλειψη ρεαλισμού», «στείρο καταγγελτισμό» και «απουσία συγκεκριμένων προγραμματικών θέσεων».

Προφανώς ρεαλιστικό και προγραμματικά εφικτό θεωρείται ο,τιδήποτε ξεκινάει από την αφετηρία ότι η ροή πόρων θα κατευθύνεται διαρκώς από τους οικονομικά ασθενέστερους στους ισχυρότερους. Και υπεύθυνο εκ μέρους της αριστεράς θα ήταν να συμβιβαστεί με αυτή την «πραγματικότητα» αντί να την αμφισβητεί.

*Ομως, αυτή η «πραγματικότητα» που λίγο παλιότερα γινόταν αποδεκτή ως η μόνη διαθέσιμη εναλλακτική λύση, σήμερα αμφισβητείται όχι μόνο από την αριστερά αλλά από την ίδια την κοινωνία. Τους εργαζόμενους και τις εργαζόμενες που κατεβαίνουν στο δρόμο για να αποτρέψουν τη διάλυση του ασφαλιστικού συστήματος, τους φοιτητές και τις φοιτήτριες που υπερασπίστηκαν μαχητικά τη δημόσια δωρεάν παιδεία, τους πολίτες της Καβάλας που αρνούνται τις μονάδες λιθάνθρακα της ΔΕΗ, ή τους λιμενεργάτες, που δεν δέχτηκαν να εξαγοραστούν προκειμένου να συναινέσουν στις ιδιωτικοποιήσεις των σταθμών εμπορευματοκιβωτίων.

Και αυτά δεν συμβαίνουν μόνο εδώ. Η κυριαρχία των αγορών πάνω στην κοινωνία έχει αρχίσει να αμφισβητείται ούτως ή άλλως σε διεθνές επίπεδο, από τη στιγμή που το σύστημα οδηγείται πλέον σε κρίση.

Οι συνθήκες μάς θέτουν μπροστά στην ανάγκη να αναζητήσουμε εναλλακτικές λύσεις προς μια εντελώς διαφορετική πολιτική κατεύθυνση.

*Και εδώ πρέπει να σημειώσουμε ότι η εκδοχή της κεντροαριστεράς, δηλαδή η προσκόλληση της αριστεράς στο κέντρο ώστε να προκύπτουν πλειοψηφίες εναρμονισμένες με τις βασικές κατευθυντήριες γραμμές διακυβέρνησης, και απόλυτα ευθυγραμμισμένες με τον κυρίαρχο «ρεαλισμό» της ηγεμονίας της αγοράς, δεν μπορεί να αποτελέσει πια εναλλακτική λύση. Οχι μόνο γιατί αντίστοιχα πειράματα που εφαρμόστηκαν σε ευρωπαϊκές χώρες δεν έφεραν αποτέλεσμα αλλά κυρίως γιατί αυτά αδυνατούν να απαντήσουν στο κύριο ζήτημα, που δεν είναι η διακυβέρνηση αλλά η εξουσία. Μια εξουσία που σε όλο το προηγούμενο διάστημα πέρασε με γρήγορους ρυθμούς από τους θεσμούς αντιπροσώπευσης σε εξωθεσμικά κέντρα, στα υπερεθνικά χρηματοπιστωτικά δίκτυα, στα μεγάλα εκδοτικά συμφέροντα, στους τραπεζικούς ομίλους και στα κατασκευαστικά λόμπι.

*Συνεπώς, το ζητούμενο σήμερα είναι να δημιουργήσουμε τις προϋποθέσεις για μια μεγάλη ανατροπή των συσχετισμών, ώστε να προκύψει ένα νέο πλαίσιο ελέγχου των παράκεντρων εξουσίας, ένας νέος καταστατικός χάρτης που θα διέπει τις σχέσεις πολιτικής και οικονομικής ισχύος και θα μεταφέρει το κέντρο βάρους από την ανεξέλεγκτη παντοδυναμία της αγοράς στην ίδια την κοινωνία.

*Είναι, λοιπόν, αναγκαίο να κατανοήσουμε ότι η πιο βασική παράμετρος για τη διαμόρφωση μιας τέτοιας εναλλακτικής πρότασης είναι η αλλαγή του σημερινού συσχετισμού δυνάμεων.

Αυτό μπορεί να συμβεί μόνο με ένα τρόπο: Αν οι άνθρωποι αρχίσουν να κινητοποιούνται οργανωμένα, να διεκδικούν τη ζωή τους, να δημιουργούν σοβαρό πολιτικό κόστος για κάθε απόφαση που αφορά το παρόν και το μέλλον τους. Τότε ο σημερινός πολιτικός σχεδιασμός, ο οποίος σε μεγάλο βαθμό βασίζεται στην πολιτική απάθεια και στη μαζική επικοινωνιακή χειραγώγηση, θα ανατραπεί.

Από αυτή την «κοινωνία των αντιστάσεων» θα προωθηθεί μια νέα ατζέντα για τις εργασιακές σχέσεις, το κοινωνικό κράτος, τον δημόσιο χώρο, το περιβάλλον, τα δημοκρατικά και κοινωνικά δικαιώματα.

*Επομένως, η πρώτη και, πιο σοβαρή πολιτική μάχη δίνεται μέσα στην κοινωνία. Αν εκεί γίνει το μεγάλο βήμα, οι ανακατατάξεις και η διαμόρφωση νέων συσχετισμών στο πολιτικό σκηνικό θα ακολουθήσουν σχεδόν φυσιολογικά, μετατοπίζοντας το κέντρο βάρους προς τα αριστερά. Σε κάθε περίπτωση, στο αμέσως προσεχές χρονικό διάστημα τίποτα δεν θα είναι όπως το ξέραμε μέχρι σήμερα.

Ο Τάσσος φέυγει, το ΑΝΑΝ έρχεται...

Μεγάλο μπάχαλο.

1. "Έπεσε ο Τάσσος";

Φαινομενικά ναι. Στην πραγματικότητα όμως, αυτός και το κόμμα του είναι ο μεγάλος ρυθμιστής του 2ου γύρου:

"Κασουλίδης και Χριστόφιας σε αγώνα δρόμου, με πλειοδοσία υποσχέσεων, για την εξασφάλιση των ψήφων των κομμάτων που υποστήριξαν τον Τ. Παπαδόπουλο"...

"Οργιώδες παρασκήνιο με προεδρία Βουλής, υπουργεία"..

ΔΗΚΟ, ΕΔΕΚ, ΕΥΡΩΚΟ, ΑΔΗΚ, Οικολόγοι

"το Πολιτικό Γραφείο της ΕΔΕΚ αποφάσισε να εισηγηθεί στην Κεντρική Επιτροποή του κόμματος, που συνέρχεται αύριο, την υποστήριξη του Δημ. Χριστόφια... Από τους άλλους υποστηρικτές του Τάσσου Παπαδόπουλου, το ΕΥΡΩΚΟ και το ΑΔΗΚ μάλλον κλίνουν προς Κασουλίδη, στους Οικολόγους επικρατεί έντονος προβληματισμός, ενώ το ΔΗΚΟ είναι το ερωτηματικό"..

"Το ΔΗΚΟ έχει όντως καταστεί τώρα ο ρυθμιστής της κατάστασης, και τόσο το ΑΚΕΛ όσο και ο ΔΗΣΥ φαίνονται πρόθυμα να ικανοποιήσουν τους πλείστους όρους, προκειμένου να πετύχουν την υποστήριξή του την ερχόμενη Κυριακή"..

Σύμφωνα με ορισμένες πληροφορίες, το ΑΚΕΛ προσφέρει στο ΔΗΚΟ την προεδρία της Βουλής και 2-3 υπουργεία, ενώ ο ΔΗΣΥ προσφέρει το υπουργείο Εξωτερικών και 2-3 υπουργεία. Υπουργεία προσφέρονται από τα δύο κόμματα και στην ΕΔΕΚ.

Βασικό: Η πλειοψηφία της βάσης του ΔΗΚΟ είναι έντονα πικραμένη από τη στάση της ηγεσίας του ΑΚΕΛ, την οποία θέλει να εκδικηθεί, συμμαχώντας με τον ΔΗΣΥ προς υποστήριξη Κασουλίδη.

ΣΕΚ vs ΠΕΟ

Η Συνομοσπονδία Εργατών Κύπρου (ΣΕΚ) κάλεσε τα μέλη της να υποστηρίξουν τον κ. Κασουλίδη. Η Παγκύπρια Εργατική Ομοσπονδία (ΠΕΟ) ήταν πάντα (όπως και τώρα) παρακλάδι του ΑΚΕΛ.

Για να δούμε τη λέει ο Μακάριος Δρουσιώτης (the only journalist i respect in this island):

"Διπλό δέλεαρ, με Τάσσο να γέρνει προς Χριστόφια

Προσπάθεια ανασύνταξης της τριμερούς συνεργασίας ΑΚΕΛ-ΔΗΚΟ-ΕΔΕΚ, υπό τον Χριστόφια, καταβάλλει ο απερχόμενος πρόεδρος της Κύπρου Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος. Σύμφωνα με άριστα ενημερωμένες πηγές, ευνοεί τη συνεργασία με το ΑΚΕΛ, σε αντίθεση με τον πρόεδρο του κόμματος Μάριο Κάρογιαν, ο οποίος ρέπει προς τη συνεργασία με τον ΔΗΣΥ.

Το ενδιαφέρον του Παπαδόπουλου αποδίδεται σε δύο λόγους:

1 Εκτιμά ότι θα υπάρξουν πιέσεις για πρωτοβουλία στο Κυπριακό και ότι ο Κασουλίδης θα είναι υπό την επιρροή του Κληρίδη και του Αναστασιάδη. Εάν πετύχει το πείραμα της νέας τριμερούς, ο Χριστόφιας θα είναι περισσότερο ελεγχόμενος από το ΔΗΚΟ.

2 Είναι πια παραδεκτό ότι υπήρξε συνεννόηση μεταξύ Παπαδόπουλου και Χριστόφια από τις εκλογές του 2003, ότι η επόμενη προεδρία θα ήταν του ΑΚΕΛ. Εστω και τώρα, ο Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος θέλει να ανταποδώσει στον Χριστόφια την εκλογική νίκη του 2003.

Οι διαβουλεύσεις έχουν προσλάβει χαρακτήρα σκληρού πόκερ, με τους δύο υποψήφιους να προσπαθούν να δελεάσουν το ΔΗΚΟ, που είναι πια ο ρυθμιστής. Το ΔΗΚΟ πήρε την οριστική απόφαση να στηρίξει τον έναν από τους δύο υποψήφιους του δεύτερου γύρου, νοουμένου ότι θα υπάρξουν δεσμεύσεις στο Κυπριακό και θα έχει μερίδιο στο διαμοιρασμό της εξουσίας. Επίσης, θα μετρήσει καθοριστικά ο βαθμός εκλεξιμότητας του υποψήφιου που θα στηρίξει.

Οι προσφορές

Το ΑΚΕΛ υπέβαλε στο ΔΗΚΟ μια δελεαστική προσφορά:

* Δεσμεύσεις στο Κυπριακό.
* Υπόσχεση για μια θητεία Χριστόφια, οπότε ανοίγει ο δρόμος στο ΔΗΚΟ να επανέλθει με δικό του πρόεδρο σε πέντε χρόνια.
* Την προεδρία της Βουλής, που σήμερα κατέχει ο Δ. Χριστόφιας, στον πρόεδρο του ΔΗΚΟ Μάριο Κάρογιαν.

* Τουλάχιστον τέσσερα από τα δέκα υπουργεία.

Ο ΔΗΣΥ προσφέρει στο ΔΗΚΟ:

* Τη δέσμευση να μην επαναφέρει το σχέδιο Ανάν.
* Πρωτοβουλία στο Κυπριακό με βάση την 8η Ιουλίου.
* Αποτελεσματική συμμετοχή στην κυβέρνηση με αριθμό υπουργείων (4-5).

(Είπατε κάτι για πολιτικές ιδεολογίες και κουραφέξαλα; Βάλε κι ένα ταξιδάκι για 2 άτομα με ημιδιατροφή στην Αυστρία, και έκλεισε η δουλειά..)

Πάντως, η πρωτοβουλία που αναλαμβάνει παρασκηνιακά ο Τ. Παπαδόπουλος για σύμπτηξη της τριμερούς συνάντησε αντιστάσεις μέσα στο ίδιο το ΔΗΚΟ. Η πλειοψηφία των ηγετικών στελεχών ρέπει προς τον ΔΗΣΥ. Μεταξύ αυτών είναι ο πρόεδρος του κόμματος Μάριος Κάρογιαν και ο επίτροπος της Κύπρου στην Ε.Ε. Μάρκος Κυπριανού. Οι Κάρογιαν και Κυπριανού προέρχονται από το λεγόμενο κυπριανικό στρατόπεδο (επρόσκειντο στον Σπ. Κυπριανού) και σκοπός τους είναι να μειώσουν την επιρροή που απέκτησε στο κόμμα ο Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος, ο οποίος εντάχθηκε στο ΔΗΚΟ το 1990.

Ενστάσεις στις επιλογές του Δ. Χριστόφια καταγράφονται και μεταξύ των δυνάμεων που τον είχαν στηρίξει, με απώτερο στόχο να φύγει ο Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος. Εάν η συμμαχία με το ΔΗΚΟ γίνει με όρους που θα διατηρήσουν την επιρροή του Παπαδόπουλου, τότε ένα ποσοστό που ψήφισε Χριστόφια ενδέχεται να στραφεί προς τον Κασουλίδη."

ANAN - ΤΟΥΡΚΙΑ - ΠΑΝΥΓΥΡΙΑ

«έχασε ο Παπαδόπουλος» και προσθέτει ότι όποιος και να είναι ο νέος πρόεδρος, τίποτε δεν θα είναι όπως προηγουμένως. Δεν θα είναι ένας ηγέτης που απορρίπτει τα πάντα.

ΓΕΝΙ ΝΤΟΥΖΕΝ
«οι Ελληνοκύπριοι είπαν όχι στη διχοτόμηση».

Ο ψευδοπρωθυπουργός Σογιέρ είπε ότι το άθροισμα των ψήφων των Κασουλίδη και Χριστόφια αφήνει ελπίδες να προχωρήσουμε σε κοινά αποδεκτή λύση.

Ευτυχείς οι Βρετανοί στρέφονται προς Κασουλίδη

Με μεγάλη αισιοδοξία «για το ενδεχόμενο επανένωσης της Κύπρου» υποδέχτηκε ο βρετανικός Τύπος την είδηση για τον αποκλεισμό του Τάσσου Παπαδόπουλου από το δεύτερο γύρο των προεδρικών εκλογών. Οι δύο νικητές του πρώτου γύρου, Δημήτρης Χριστόφιας και Ιωάννης Κασουλίδης, γίνονται δέκτες θετικών σχολίων, σε αντίθεση με τον κ. Παπαδόπουλο που χαρακτηρίζεται «εθνικιστής» από τους «Φαϊνάνσιαλ Τάιμς», «σκληροπυρηνικός» από τους «Τάιμς», η «Ιντιπέντεντ» και η ιστοσελίδα της «Ντέιλι Τέλεγκραφ» υποστηρίζουν ότι αποτελούσε εμπόδιο στις διαπραγματεύσεις, ενώ το BBC κάνει λόγο για την «αδιάλλακτη προσέγγισή» του.

Οι «Φαϊνάνσιαλ Τάιμς» επικαλούνται αναλυτή που υποστηρίζει ότι ο κ. Κασουλίδης κατάφερε με επιτυχία να αλλάξει την εις βάρος του εικόνα ως απόμακρου από τα κυπριακά πολιτικού και ως «πολύ Ευρωπαίου», προσθέτοντας ότι τις ισορροπίες άλλαξε η ψήφος των απόδημων Κυπρίων, που επέστρεψαν στην πατρίδα τους για να συμμετάσχουν στην εκλογική διαδικασία.

Η «Ιντιπέντεντ» αναφέρει ότι εάν εκλεγεί τελικά ο κ. Χριστόφιας, θα είναι ο πρώτος κομμουνιστής ηγέτης χώρας-μέλους της Ε.Ε. Προσθέτει ότι το αποτέλεσμα καταδεικνύει ότι οι Κύπριοι είναι πλέον διατεθειμένοι για διαπραγματεύσεις, κάτι που αναφέρει και η «Ντέιλι Τέλεγκραφ».

Το BBC τέλος, στην ιστοσελίδα του, επισημαίνει ότι ο κ. Κασουλίδης είναι ο «αγαπημένος» της διεθνούς κοινότητας για την επανέναρξη των συνομιλιών.

Η επιστροφή των ξένων δυνάμεων από άλλο δρόμο

Τα δυο μεγάλα κόμματα της Κύπρου, ΔΗΣΥ και ΑΚΕΛ, που περνούν στον δεύτερο γύρο καλούνται τώρα να διαχειριστούν το «όχι» στο σχέδιο Ανάν, ενώ το 2004, οι ηγεσίες του ΔΗΣΥ, αλλά και του ΑΚΕΛ (μέχρι τη μεγάλη στροφή της τελευταίας στιγμής), είχαν υποστηρίξει το σχέδιο.

Η απομάκρυνση του κ. Παπαδόπουλου από τον προεδρικό θώκο αποτελούσε σκοπό και στόχο όλων των δυνάμεων (ΗΠΑ, Βρετανίας, ΟΗΕ και Τουρκίας) που είχαν εργαστεί για την επιβολή του σχεδίου Ανάν, δηλαδή της κατάλυσης της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας.

Οι ίδιες δυνάμεις, με αυτόν ή εκείνον τον τρόπο εργάστηκαν για τον αποκλεισμό του κ. Παπαδόπουλου και ανοιχτά σχεδόν υποστήριζαν οποιονδήποτε άλλο υποψήφιο πλην του ιδίου.

Οι δυο νικητές υποψήφιοι για την προεδρία της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας με τις θέσεις που ανέπτυσσαν κατά περιόδους έχουν ήδη προκαλέσει το θετικό ενδιαφέρον των συντελεστών του σχεδίου Ανάν.

Οι κατηγορίες του ΑΚΕΛ και του ΔΗΣΥ περί «απομόνωσης» της Κύπρου στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ενωση, λόγω της πολιτικής διαχείρισης του «όχι» από τον κ. Παπαδόπουλο, αυξάνουν τις ελπίδες του διεθνούς παράγοντα περί «επανεξέτασης» συνολικά του Κυπριακού.

Αυτό σημαίνει αυτομάτως ότι η «Συμφωνία της 8ης Ιουλίου» (σ.σ. η οποία δεσμεύει τον κ. Ταλάτ και την τουρκοκυπριακή πλευρά, αλλά και τον ΟΗΕ, σε εφ' όλης της ύλης διαπραγμάτευση από τις δύο κοινότητες, το αποτέλεσμα της οποίας θα αποτελέσει τη βάση της λύσης του Κυπριακού) κινδυνεύει να μπει στο ράφι, όπως το έχει ήδη κάνει η Αγκυρα και όπως προσπάθησε ο γεν. γραμματέας του ΟΗΕ.

Το νέο επιβαρυντικό στοιχείο είναι η χθεσινή μονομερής ανεξαρτητοποίηση του Κοσόβου, η οποία θα λειτουργήσει ως εκβιαστικός μοχλός πίεσης της Αγκυρας και των Τουρκοκυπρίων, που για να «αποτρέψουν» μια μονομερή ανεξαρτητοποίηση των κατεχόμενων, θα προτιμούσαν, τουλάχιστον, μια συνομοσπονδία δύο κρατών στην Κύπρο.

Ο Τάσσος φεύγει, το ΑΝΑΝ έρχεται. Και το γελείο είναι ότι οι Κυπραίοι νομίζουν ότι διώξανε όλα τα κακά απ'τη χώρα τους καταψηφίζοντας τον Τάσσο...

Μου θυμίζει την βλακεία και την αθωότητα παλιότερης εποχής, όταν στα πανώ έγραφε "ΕΝΩΣΙΣ ΝΑΙ - ΝΑΤΟ ΟΧΙ", τη στιγμή που η Ελλάδα ήταν μέλος του ΝΑΤΟ..

Άστο, για να το πιάσεις πρέπει να ζήσεις τουλάχιστον ένα τρίχρονο εδώ κάτω, αλλιώς δεν μπορείς να βγάλεις άκρη..

14,3% - Τι έγινε ρε παιδιά;

Εκτόξευση ΣΥΝ, ωδίνες και οδύνες στα άλλα κόμματα

Νέες δημοσκοπήσεις δείχνουν ότι η εκλογή του Αλέξη Τσίπρα αλλάζει ορισμένα δεδομένα του πολιτικού σκηνικού, εκτοξεύοντας σε πρωτοφανή ποσοστά τη δύναμη του Συνασπισμού. Παράλληλα, εμφανίζονται πολλά περιθώρια να ευδοκιμήσει ένα νέο κόμμα, για την ανάγκη δημιουργίας του οποίου φαίνεται ότι συμφωνούν σημαντικά ποσοστά ψηφοφόρων όλων των κομμάτων.

Σύμφωνα με τη μία δημοσκόπηση (της ALCO για το «Πρώτο Θέμα»), Ν.Δ. (27,8%) και ΠΑΣΟΚ (24,5%) συγκεντρώνουν χαμηλά ποσοστά. Αντίθετα, στο 14,3% εκτοξεύεται το ποσοστό του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, το οποίο αφήνει στην τέταρτη θέση το ΚΚΕ με 8,1%. Ο ΛΑΟΣ συγκεντρώνει 4,1% και η αδιευκρίνιστη ψήφος φτάνει το 19%.

Ο νέος πρόεδρος του ΣΥΝ είναι ο μόνος από τους πολιτικούς αρχηγούς που έχει θετικό ισοζύγιο θετικών και αρνητικών γνωμών. Ο κ. Τσίπρας συγκεντρώνει 54,3% θετικές γνώμες και 24,5% αρνητικές. Για τους άλλους, η εικόνα είναι αντίστροφη. Ο Κ. Καραμανλής έχει 55% αρνητικές και 40,7% θετικές γνώμες, ο Γ. Παπανδρέου 64,2% και 28,8% αντίστοιχα, η Αλέκα Παπαρήγα 63,4% και 24,4%, και ο Γ. Καρατζαφέρης 62,6% και 25,3%.

Στην άλλη δημοσκόπηση (της RASS για το «Παρόν»), τίθεται το ερώτημα αν υπάρχει ανάγκη δημιουργίας νέου κόμματος. Το 58,3% απαντά «όχι» και το 39,8% «ναι». Μάλιστα, την απάντηση «ναι» δίνει το 51,8% του ΚΚΕ, το 44,6% του ΠΑΣΟΚ και το 43,3% του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ. Μικρότερο είναι το ποσοστό (28,7%) μεταξύ των ψηφοφόρων της Ν.Δ.

Το 58,3% των ψηφοφόρων του ΠΑΣΟΚ εκφράζει ικανοποίηση για την απόφαση του Ευάγγελου Βενιζέλου να μην προχωρήσει στην ίδρυση ομίλου. Ομως εντύπωση προκαλεί το γεγονός ότι περισσότερο από το ένα τρίτο των ψηφοφόρων του ΠΑΣΟΚ (34,4%) δεν είναι ικανοποιημένο από την απόφαση αυτή.

Nanotechnology kills cancer as tiny tubes are implanted in cancer cells.

Nanotechnology has been harnessed to kill cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. The technique works by inserting microscopic synthetic rods called carbon nanotubules into cancer cells. When the rods are exposed to near-infra red light from a laser they heat up, killing the cell, while cells without rods are left unscathed.

Details of the Stanford University work are published by Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. It's actually quite simple and amazing Researcher Dr Hongjie Dai said: "One of the longstanding problems in medicine is how to cure cancer without harming normal body tissue.

"Standard chemotherapy destroys cancer cells and normal cells alike.
"That's why patients often lose their hair and suffer numerous other side effects.
"For us, the Holy Grail would be finding a way to selectively kill cancer cells and not damage healthy ones."

Many in cell

The carbon nanotubules used by the Stanford team are only half the width of a DNA molecule, and thousands can easily fit inside a typical cell. Under normal circumstances near-infra red light passes through the body harmlessly. But the Stanford team found that if they placed a solution of carbon nanotubules under a near-infra red laser beam, the solution heated up to about 70C in two minutes. They then placed the tubules inside cells, and found they were quickly destroyed by the heat generated by the laser beam.

Dr Dai said: "It's actually quite simple and amazing. We're using an intrinsic property of nanotubes to develop a weapon that kills cancer."

The next step was to find a way to introduce the nantubules into cancer cells, but not healthy cells. The researchers did this by taking advantage of the fact that, unlike normal cells, the surface of cancer cells is covered with receptors for a vitamin known as folate. They coated the nanotubules with folate molecules, making it easy for them to pass into cancer cells, but unable to bind with their healthy cousins. Exposure to the laser duly killed off the diseased cells, but left the healthy ones untouched.

Refined technique

The researchers believe it should be possible to refine the technique still further, for instance by attaching an antibody to a nanotubule to target a particular kind of cancer cell. They have already started work on tailoring the technique to target lymphoma in mice. Dr Emma Knight, of the charity Cancer Research UK, said: "Nanotechnology has a lot to offer biomedical science, and the results of this paper suggest yet another way in which it may help in the fight against cancer.

"However, this work is still at a very early stage. The researchers have shown that near-infra red light can cause nanotubes to produce heat that can kill cancer cells.
"But their work so far has focused on cells that have been grown in culture in the laboratory.
"Further research will be crucial to see whether these effects can be reproduced in the more complex environment of a tumour and, ultimately, the human body."

Amid a discussion of trade in 1973, Chinese leader Mao Zedong made what U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger called a novel proposition: sending tens of thousands, even 10 million, Chinese women to the United States.

Direct sow May onwards (UK). Used fresh, stored dried or frozen. Ideal companion plant for Tomatoes is thought to be a deterrent for pests and diseases.
